Rehab Admissions Process FAQs
How do I get into treatment?
The first step is to call us immediately. Our treatment professionals are available around the clock to speak with you and get you started on the way to recovery. Reach out to us for more information about our rehab admissions process.
Do you solely treat physical addiction?
Our philosophy is to treat every aspect of your addiction, mental, physical, and spiritual. Through our continuum of care, we will treat your physical addiction, managing withdrawal, as well as get you started on a customized treatment plan to heal the mind and the spirit.
How are families incorporated into the treatment plan?
We believe that addiction is a family disease, and we offer resources for both clients and family members through the recovery process. We begin working with you and your loved ones as soon as you enter treatment with us, and continue working with families as you move through recovery.
When appropriate, we will engage families directly in the treatment plan. Alongside each patient’s customized treatment plan, we offer resources to family members, including family support groups, to emphasize psychoeducation on the topic of addiction, as well as strategies to establish and maintain healthy boundaries and create a successful environment for healing.
What do I do after treatment?
Part of our approach at Georgia Addiction Treatment Center is to equip each individual with not only the skills for long term recovery but the ability and knowledge to use these skills in the real world. At every step, we are focused on helping you plan for success after treatment, with strategies for relapse prevention and assistance in moving toward long term recovery.
How long will I be in treatment?
The length of treatment depends on what level of care you need, as well as your current needs and your individual, customized treatment plan.
It is our belief, supported by evidence, that a longer stay in treatment, supervised by our trained, experienced clinical staff, will result in a more successful outcome.

Will I be able to talk to my family while I am in treatment, how often?
There are initial restrictions on communication during the period after intake, but these channels will be restored once deemed appropriate.
This period is designed for you to get acclimated to the program, as well as allow our staff to assess the family dynamic. After this period, you will be able to contact your loved ones two to three times a week, as approved by your primary therapist.
Will I be drug tested?
During treatment, you will be required to submit to a urinalysis regularly. It is our belief, supported by research, that this testing is a powerful incentive to remain clean and a useful tool alongside your treatment plan.
Will there be medical or nursing staff on-site?
Every client will have access to medical care during their time in treatment. As you move through the levels of care, each patient will have access to attend doctor’s appointments, seek psychiatric care, and receive care from our trained nurse practitioners.
Who will I be with in treatment?
Our treatment plans are based on group therapy, a widely practiced, accepted modality. We believe it is important that each individual is surrounded by individuals with similar problems, facing the same challenges, and seeking the same opportunities for change.
What are the therapies?
Our philosophy is to create an individualized treatment plan around your needs, based on our holistic, multidisciplinary approach. At each facility, our staff is trained and experienced in a variety of therapeutic modalities.
